Comic Reccomendation: Winter Moon

Back with another fantasy MMORPG but this time it's a comic. It has that fast paced action packed comedy. Including but not limited to: arson, acts of terrorism, explosions, gold-digging, and war crimes at some point, I think.

It follows the guild "Winter moon" in an MMORPG game called Magnolia Online. This guild has 3 iconic members, widely know as: the flaming homo, the gold-digger, and mama Gideon. We'll go into these 3 main characters real quick.
Starting of with Florence himself. He is a homosexual pyromaniac. A sorcerer who's firepower is unmatched, laying waste to cities in hours, making him a walking gay nuke in every sense.

Next is Risa, the battle priest who's main source of income is men that she scams. Seems shallow at first but I can assure you, a well rounded and deep character as the story progresses.

Last is the one with the brain cell. Gideon, the autistic mother that somehow makes these 2 function.
There is a plethora of other characters. Some friends that turn enemies, some enemies that become friends, some enemies that are supposed to be dead but terrorize the real world through crimes against humanity offing thousands of people just so that more people play the game... then there are enemies that become respected frenemies, and friends that stay true to the end.

Don't let the comedy fool you, the comic actually tackles deep issues in the lives of people that play games. From using it as escapism from not feeling accepted by homophobic parents, game algorithms being the only thing that make sense in a chaotic world, using gaming to have a feeling of some sense of power or control when you feel worthless in the real world, lot's and lot's of daddy issues, and some genocide on the side.

For those who read webtoon, it's also made by Merryweather. Merryweather is currently the patron saint of the fantasy genre in webtoon. With titles such as The steam dragon express, everywhere & nowhere, and clinic of horrors under her belt.
Overall Winter Moon tells the deeper stories of gamers through the comedic and fun lens of what gaming feels like. Also there is legitimately some existential dread near the end so I advice to enjoy the early parts while they last.
